Mariental is a town of 10,000 inhabitants in south-central Namibia, lying on the B1 national road 232 kilometres (144 mi) north of Keetmanshoop and 274 kilometres (170 mi) southeast of Windhoek. It lies at an elevation of 1,090 metres (3,580 ft). Mariental is connected to the TransNamib railway line from Windhoek to Keetmanshoop. The town and the surrounding area are in a hot, arid region.
Situated next to the B1 main road in Mariental, we offer 7 airconditioned, self-catering chalets, consisting of 3-, 4-, 5 and 7-bed units with DSTV (Hotel Bouquet with 35 channels), private braai facilities, parking and night security. We also have 7 air-conditioned double/ twin rooms available. Also on our premises are 6 great camp sites, two of which have private ablutions. All camp sites have a braai, water, electricity and lights.

Not a pleasant experience from getting a reservation to staying over. The only good point was the friendly receptionist and cute labradors Run down accommodation, a whole lot of rules.....not worth writing anything more!

This venue is not at all "River" Chalets. There is no river whatsoever on the property. That river is at least a row of houses and a street away. So the name is misleading and our idea of sitting on the banks of the river...More
